Theresa Douville

Theresa Battey Douville, of Hooksett, New Hampshire, and formerly of Auburn, NH, passed away on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026. She was a dearly loved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Terry was born in June 1957 in Northfield, Vermont, the daughter of Loraine Fisk Battey and Donald Battey. The family later moved to Hudson, NH in 1962. During her senior year at Alvirne High School, Terry won a contest designing the Hudson town flag; she was quite a gifted artist. After high school, she went on to spend two years at Keene State College. Terry was most at home in her native state of Vermont. In her early years, she loved cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and hiking. She also enjoyed taking long walks in the woods surrounding the family home in Tunbridge. As a child, she spent most summer weekends there with her immediate and extended family and continued that tradition with her daughters and grandsons. Over the years, trips with her mother, aunt, sister, and her own family filled her heart, especially the annual family trip to Lake Champlain. Terry spent years as a coach for Destination Imagination through Auburn Village School, guiding multiple teams of kids to the World Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee. She loved gardening, baking, playing cribbage, and most of all, spending time with her two daughters and their families. Her hands were rarely idle: she created many beautiful stained-glass pieces, quilts, blankets, and Halloween costumes for her daughters. Simple pleasures like old country music, walking through nurseries, and maple creemees made her happy. Terry was strong, joyful, and a generous spirit. She was always smiling, laughing, joking and giving to those around her. She will be so dearly missed. She is survived by her two daughters, Ryan and husband Nick Godbout from Hooksett, NH, and Kelsey Fisk and husband Sam Melton from Lincoln, MA; her two grandsons, Johnny Godbout and Walter Fisk Melton; her sister, Nancy Battey and husband Rob Ingle from Niwot, Colorado; her Aunt Mary and Uncle Rodney Fisk from Tunbridge VT; her niece Tamara Hallee and nephew Gary MacArthur; and several cousins. She is predeceased by her father Don, her mother and best friend, Loraine, and her Aunt Ree, along with many other aunts, uncles, and cousins A small celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Terry's loving memory to either: The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation "JDRF" ( www2.breakthrought1d.org ), the American Heart Association ( www.heart.org ) or the American Cancer Society ( www.cancer.org ).
