Stephen Nicolls

Stephen Paul Nicolls, age 70 of Litchfield, NH passed away after a long battle with cancer on May 15th, 2023 at his home surrounded by loving family. Stephen was born in Chelsea, MA, son of the late Henry Nicolls and the late Irene (Sylvain) Nicolls. Stephen spent his younger years growing up in Dracut, MA and graduated from Dracut High School. Stephen was retired since 2013, however was employed for over 38 years at Raytheon Corporation. He worked at both the South Lowell plant and North Andover, MA. What Stephen enjoyed most of his life was spending time with his grandsons, Brandon & Johnny, and he loved his wife, Orea (Maille) Nicolls, and enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife. They were to celebrate 50 years of marriage in November. He enjoyed his family and cooking his pasta and meatballs. His entire world evolved around his family and this is where he spent most of his time. Stephen enjoyed watching all Boston sports, particularly the Red Sox, and enjoyed golfing, travel, and cooking. Stephen had such a kind heart and was particularly soft when it came to his children and grandchildren. He was a fighter for seven years with his struggle with cancer, and never gave up fighting. Stephen is survived by his wife, Orea (Maille) Nicolls of Litchfield, NH, his son Stephen H. Nicolls and his wife, Karen (Bergeron) Nicolls of Mont Vernon, NH, and his daughter, Catherine F. Locapo and her fiancé James West of Raymond, NH. His grandchildren, Brandon Nicolls, and Johnny Locapo. He is also the loving brother of Susan Gaudette and her husband James Gaudette of Plymouth, MA, Katie Noe of Merrimack, NH, and his brother Ron Nicolls (pre-deceased) and Donald Nicolls of Pelham, NH. He held his sisters close to his heart. Following cremation, a time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd from 11:00am to 1:30pm with a Service of Remembrance at 1:30pm in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street in Hudson, NH. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations be made in Stephen’s loving memory to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
