Robert Hegarty

Robert Patrick Hegarty, 84, of Hudson, NH, passed away on October 14, 2022 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born in Winthrop, MA. on July 26, 1938. He grew up in Revere, MA and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School. He married Patricia A. (Cannon) Hegarty, spending 58 years together raising a beautiful family in Tewksbury MA. Robert was a loving husband, devoted father & grandfather who will be deeply missed. He enjoyed family gatherings, golfing, traveling to the islands, especially Aruba, and creating memories with his family. Robert is predeceased by his wife Patricia in March of 2022. He is survived by his children Robert Hegarty Jr. and wife Tammy of Townsend, MA, John Hegarty and his wife Kristen of Tewksbury, MA, Patricia Calistro and husband Paul of Pelham, NH, Maryanne MacDougall and husband James of Derry, NH, Colleen Gleason and husband Thomas of Pelham, NH and Kathleen Follis and husband John of Litchfield, NH. He is also survived by his sisters Maryanne Giglio and her husband Roger and Eileen Hegarty and spouse MaryBeth Zinni. Robert was loved by his 13 grandchildren Robert Hegarty III, Jackelyn Surian, Jarrod Hegarty, Erica Calistro, Thomas Gleason, Shaylene Hegarty, Kerri Anne Hegarty, Michael Calistro, Jason Gleason, Kaitlyn Follis, James MacDougall Jr., Sean Follis, Emma MacDougall and his 6 great grandchildren Thomas, Aubree, Robert, Paisley, Harper and Karley. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his beloved wife, Patricia, Robert is preceded in death by his loving parents Timothy and Anne Hegarty, siblings John and Kevin, and daughter in-law Wendy Hegarty. Visiting Hours will be on Sunday, October 23rd from 12:00pm Noon - 3:00pm in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry St., in Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, October 24th at 9:00am at St. John XXIII Parish in St. John the Evangelist Church, 25 Library St., in Hudson. All may please meet at church. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson.
