Matthew Pettinato

Matthew Peter Pettinato, 70, of Hudson, NH passed away on January 27, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua following a brief illness. He is now in heaven with his parents as well as his brother Ronnie Pettinato and his sister Rosalie Coluccio. Son of the late Matthew and Margaret Pettinato, Matthew was born in Cambridge, MA, and was raised in Belmont, MA. Matthew attended the Belmont school district and graduated at Belmont High School in 1969. He then attended Bryant and Stratton College and graduated in 1971 with a degree in business. Matthew met his sweetheart Denise Pettinato on December 29 1974 moved to Hudson, NH in 1977 and married on June 3rd 1978 where they raised their two wonderful children. Matthew started working at the post office in 1984 in Boston then moved to the Hudson post office in 1986. He then became a town clerk at the Hudson post office in the Hudson plaza in 1991 and retired in 2016. He loved his coworkers and customers and always greeted every customer with a big smile and bright conversation. Matthew was a very uplifting man with a great spirit. He loved having conversations with everyone and could talk for hours. Matthew loved to to relax by the pool with a black Russian or playing horseshoes and loved gardening. He also he loved a nice home cooked Italian dinner or a nice juicy lobster. He loved to care for his fish and birds and also cared for and loved his 3 basset hounds Drooper, Lucy and Daisy who he is now walking in heaven. Matthew was a very active parent to his son and daughter, always taking them to activities and trips. Matthew loved camping and playing softball in his younger days. He was an avid fan of all the New England sports teams; Bruins, Patriots, Redsox and Celtics. Matthew is survived by his sweetheart Denise Pettinato of Hudson, his loving children; Matthew J. Pettinato and his wife Tara of Ashland, MA and Lauren Pettinato and her husband Jay Alexander of Hudson, NH. Matthew is also survived by his brother Ben Pettinato of Sarasota, FL and a sister Debra O`neil of Saugus, MA. Matthew also had the joy of being a Grandfather to Anthony Pettinato, Samara Pettinato, and Leila Pettinato. He loved his grandchildren very much and would do anything with them. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, February 3rd from 4pm-6pm in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry St., in Hudson. All guests attending visiting hours are required to wear a face mask or facial covering while in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 4th at 10am in St. Kathryn Church, 4 Dracut Road in Hudson. All are asked to please meet at church. Burial will be held in St. Patrick Cemetery.
