Laurie J. Burkett

Laurie J. Burkett, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2026. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Michael, for 43 years, and a loving, nurturing mother to her two sons, Aaron and Isaac. She also leaves behind two daughters-in-law whom she cherished as the "daughters she never had." Her five grandchildren were her greatest motivation and deepest joy. No matter how tired she was, she always perked up for their visits, ensuring the closet was stocked with their favorite snacks. She had a wonderful sense of humor and grace; even after returning from a hospital stay, when her grandchildren asked, "what have you been up to lately" she would simply say "the usual stuff." Laurie also loved her "grand-dogs" and would happily let them sit on her lap despite any discomfort. Her devotion to family and friends was evident in her hospitality; she delighted in doting on guests with abundance, which was evident in how full the grocery cart always was in preparation. A true perfectionist, she took great pride in her home, her decorating, and especially her hair. She is survived by her husband, Michael; her son Aaron and his wife Nancy, with their children Ian, Jenna, and Evan; and her son Isaac and his wife Valerie, with their children Logan and Lillian. She is also survived by her siblings Debbie (Ron), Donna (Bob), Doug (Laura), and Lisa (Al), and was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Eleanor, sister, Linda. She leaves behind 16 nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends and the church family at Amoskeag Presbyterian Church. As noted in Proverbs 31:28, "Her children shall arise up, her husband also and shall praise her." Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson, 50 Ferry St, Hudson, NH. A private burial service will take place at Reeds Cemetery in Merrimack.
