John "Jack" Simon

John “Jack” William Simon, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Raymond and Ann (Broadbent) Simon. Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jane F. (Hallaren) Simon, who passed away in 2004. Jack is survived by his son, Raymond Simon and his wife Christine of Nashua; his daughter, Laura Simon of Wilton; and his cherished grandchildren, Jocelyn Lacmanovic and her husband Miljan of Mont Vernon, Julia Simon and her fiancé Tyler Emerson of Merrimack, Kaylie O’Leary of Myrtle Beach, Darren O’Leary of Milford, Stephen Simon of Milford, and Paula O’Leary of Manchester. He also leaves behind his three great-grandchildren, Niko and Mateo Lacmanovic, and Mackenzie Bell. He will also be deeply missed by his longtime friend Don Nalette, and he was predeceased by his dear friend Cynthia Ruonala. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army with Company A, 577th Engineer Battalion during the Vietnam War, receiving several commendations for his dedicated service. A hardworking and talented mechanic, Jack worked briefly on the Mount Washington Cog Railway before starting his own business, John’s Truck Repair in Hudson, where he specialized in Detroit Diesel engine repair for many years. He later spent the remainder of his career as a diesel mechanic and truck driver with Concrete Systems in Hudson, proudly driving Truck 111 for many years before retiring. Jack found great joy in spending time at his camp in Jefferson NH. He loved fishing, had a lifelong fascination with trains and HO model trains, and treasured the companionship of his many beloved dogs over the years: Missy, Gretel, Trixie, Midnight, and Bud Dog, who was fittingly named after his favorite beverage. During his lengthy illness, Jack wished to extend his heartfelt gratitude to several special friends — Joelle, Pat, Don, and Robin — for their friendship, kindness, and support throughout his struggle. He wanted to thank his granddaughter Jocelyn for the comfort she provided during his final hours. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, at Evergreen Cemetery 391 Main Street in Nashua . Family and friends are kindly asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
