Jean Dube

Jean Gertrude (Couturier) Dube, age 85, of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully on October 24, 2020. She was born in Goffstown, NH on February 28, 1935, the daughter of Leon and Bertha (Gerard) Couturier. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Gerald A. Dube for 61 years before his passing on May 2, 2019. She was employed by J.F. McElwain until she and Gerry started a family. From that time on, she was a devoted mother and homemaker—her true passion. Jean loved to cook, garden, play cards, and was an avid sports fan. One of her greatest joys was watching and loudly cheering on her favorite New England sports teams: The Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox, and of course her husband Gerry was always by her side. A life-long lover of music and dancing, Jean even won best dancer her Junior and Senior year at Nashua High School. Most family gatherings would find Jean dancing to the music with her children and grandchildren. Frank Sinatra was her favorite, but she loved all music that, in her words, had a good “beat”. Most of all, Jean (lovingly known as ”Mom”, “Mémère”, and “Mem”), cherished and loved her family dearly. She lived for spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and her great-grandson. She was always thinking of her family and we all looked forward to her home-cooked meals and holiday gatherings where she would begin her toasts with “Family is Everything” and end with telling us how much she loved us. Feisty, brave, and always willing to share a dance or a laugh is how we will lovingly remember her. Jean was the devoted mother of Sandra (Dube) Roth and her husband, Gerald Roth, Stephen Dube and his wife, Laurie (Sweetser) Dube, Shelley (Dube) McClain and her husband, Elmer McClain. She was the loving grandmother to Taylor (Roth) Barry and her husband, Sean Barry, Spencer Roth, Alexa Roth, Kristen Dube and her wife, Zulehira Dube, Alyssa Dube, Aaron Lecomte and his fiancé, Meredith Swanson, Avery McClain, Millie McClain, and most recently, great-grandmother to Graham Barry. Jean leaves behind her brothers Marcel Couturier, John Couturier (her twin), and Raymond Couturier, her brothers-in-laws, Bill Dube and his wife Sheila and Normand Dube and his wife Kathy. Along with many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean was predeceased by Paul Couturier, Normand Couturier, Giselle (Couturier) LaRose, and Jeannette (Couturier) Berube. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have chosen not to have any services at this time. We will celebrate mom “her way”, during safer times for all to gather.
