Janet Ellen McCabe

Janet Ellen McCabe, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born on October 1, 1952, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late George and Lorraine Doucette. Janet dedicated more than 20 years of her life to nursing, a career that reflected her caring and compassionate nature. Above all, however, Janet treasured the time she spent with her family. She found happiness in the simple moments of life—being together, making memories, and watching the people she loved grow and thrive. Janet enjoyed painting as a hobby and loved being outdoors, whether taking a walk or going for a bike ride. She and her companion, Norman, shared many wonderful memories over their more than 30 years together, including the cruises they took together. Janet often spoke about those trips and the wonderful times they shared. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. Janet loved spending time with her granddaughters, Kiara and Kylie, and was always excited to attend their school plays. She never missed an opportunity to tell others how proud she was of them and all they were accomplishing. Janet had a deep love for animals, especially the family dogs. Their first Loki held a special place in her heart, and later, Janet and Norman welcomed another dog into their lives, whom they also named Loki. Both became cherished members of the family and brought Janet much happiness. Janet will be deeply missed by her loving companion of more than 30 years, Norman Verrier; her daughter, Heather Colocho, and Heather’s fiancé, Christopher Boehme; and her beloved granddaughters, Kiara Colocho and Kylie Colocho. She will also be lovingly remembered by all of her family and friends whose lives she touched throughout the years. Janet's memory will live on in the love she gave, the memories she created, and the many lives she touched through her kindness, devotion, and love for her family. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street, Hudson, NH. A Graveside Service will take place on Tuesday, September 22, at 10:00 a.m. at Lowell Cemetery, 75 Knapp Avenue, Lowell, MA. All are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. May Janet rest peacefully, surrounded forever by the love she gave so freely to those who meant the most to her.
