J. Porter Starratt

J. Porter Starratt, 92, of Nashua, New Hampshire, and formerly of Londonderry and Windham, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Nashua. He was born on November 29, 1939, in Needham, Massachusetts. Porter was the beloved son of the late Ernest W. Starratt and Thelma (Porter) Starratt. He was also predeceased by his sister, Barbara Graham, and his brother, Ernest Starratt. A proud graduate of Boston English High School, Porter went on to earn his degree from Boston College as a member of the Class of 1961. Prior to his college years, he honorably served in the United States Army, a commitment he carried with pride throughout his life. In 2011, he was especially honored to receive his Golden Eagle from Boston College, a recognition that meant a great deal to him. Porter enjoyed a long and successful career as a purchasing manager, working in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Known for his strong work ethic and integrity, he was respected by colleagues and friends alike. For 62 years, Porter was the devoted husband of Mary (Burke) Starratt. Together they built a loving family that was the greatest source of pride and joy in his life. He was a cherished father to Sue McClarty; Amy Nelson and her husband, Bob Nelson; and Jeffrey Starratt and his wife, Millie. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Michael McClarty; Brittany Farrar; Cory Nelson; and Olivia, Nolan, and Jack Starratt. He was also a devoted great-grandfather to Kingston, Cassius, and Kai Farrar. Porter found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing golf anywhere he could, especially at his favorite course, The International in Bolton. A lifelong lover of a good crossword puzzle, he rarely missed the chance to challenge his mind. He greatly enjoyed sea cruises, listening to Irish music, and, above all, spending time with his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 1 South Road, Londonderry, New Hampshire. All are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will take place in the spring at Pillsbury Cemetery in Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
