Ruel William Dutton

Ruel William Dutton was born in Gardiner Maine on September 27, 1934. He graduated from Gardiner High School in 1952 where he enjoyed playing baseball and football. After high school, he enlisted in the Marines, served as a Sargent for 3 years. As a Marine, he was awarded the National Defense Service Award. Bill was proud and honored to serve the USA as a Marine. When returning home from the Marines, he attended Husson University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. While attending a local summer dance in Augusta, Maine, he met the love of his life Anastasia (Ann). They married in 1960 and recently celebrated 61years together. Bill was a long-time employee of Brockway-Smith Company in North Andover, MA where he was the company’s Controller. Bill was a beloved husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed being with his family, and was sports enthusiast, watching Patriots, Red Sox games, and golf matches. He participated in the Senior Olympics at age 80, where he won a Gold medal for Pickle Ball. Bill was an avid reader of historical events. Family members include 3 daughters, Sara and husband Norman of Hooksett, NH, Beth of Orlando Florida and Amy of Concord. NH. He is predeceased and reunited with his youngest daughter, Amy. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place Monday, April 19th at 10:00 am in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Hwy, Boscawen, New Hampshire. All may please meet at the cemetery. Those attending the service are asked to please wear a face mask or facial covering and to follow the social distancing guidelines in place.
