Georgette “Georgia” Pierce Roy, 88, a lifetime Nashua resident died October 8, 2017. She was born in Hudson, NH on June 19, 1929 and was the daughter of late Theophile Roy and Alvine (Poulin) Roy. Educated in local schools she earned her GED in 1988. She had been employed by JF McElain Shoe Company, Sprague Electric, Delta Education and Fab Braze from which she retired in 2000. The middle child of nine children she was predeceased by two brothers Rudolph Roy (1988) and Gerard Roy (1999) and three sisters Germaine Lavoie (1975), Margaret Nadeau (2009), Rejeane Migneault (2015) her surviving siblings are Arthur and his wife Mary Roy of Glendale AZ, Lawrence Roy of Newport NH and a sister Rachel Roy of Newport NH. Georgia was married to the late Theodore “Buddy” Pierce Jr. for 33 years. Georgia was a devoted mother of four. She was predeceased by a daughter Cindy-Lou Ann Pierce in 1956 and a son Daniel Raymond Pierce in 2005. Surviving members of her family include two sons Richard Pierce and his wife Monique of Manchester NH and Randy Pierce and his wife Tracy of Nashua NH. She also leaves two grandsons Christopher Pierce and his wife Sarah of Newington, CT and Nicholas Pierce and his wife Nellie of Mt. Pleasant, MI and three great grandsons Jason, Elijah and Jonathan Pierce. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins as one would expect from a woman who cared so deeply about her family. Georgia was a skilled roller-skater and won many medals in skate dancing. She also directed a roller skating show at the Jack O’Lantern skating rink. Georgia and her sister Rachel were known as the Rainbow Rangerettes singing and playing guitar on WFEA and WOTW radio stations in the 1950’s. Georgia was active in the community and volunteering. She served as Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 255. Georgia was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church for many years singing in the Adult Choir. She worked with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). She was also a great Patriot and Red Sox fan. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12th at 11am in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Pine Hill Ave, in Nashua, NH. All may meet at the cemetery. There will be a reception following the service at 12 noon until 3pm in the White Birch Catering and Banquet Hall, 222 Central St, Hudson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Future In Sight, McGreal Sight Center, 25 Walker Street, Concord, NH 03301.
