Robert L. Graves

Robert Lawrence Graves, 76, of Hudson, NH passed away peacefully on June 8th surrounded by his loving family. Robert, Bob to many of his friends, was born on July 14, 1947 in Stoneham, MA to Elmer Richard Graves and Dorothy June Gibbons. In springtime of 1966, Robert met the love of his life, Dorothy June Wheeler. Their exciting life adventure as husband and wife began on August 28, 1966. They packed up and moved to Virginia where Robert enlisted and served in the United States Navy for two years before moving back to Massachusetts. Robert was a hard worker his entire life and a wonderful provider for his family. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Lowell and began his thirty-three year career at Polaroid Cooperation, where he met many of his lifelong friends. After retirement, Robert enjoyed traveling the country with his wife Dorothy, as well as, fishing and hunting with his son, Rob and his many close friends. Gardening, camping, sharing his many colorful stories and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren were also some of his favorite things to do. Robert is predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Dorothy June Graves and his brother Richard Graves. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy J. Graves to whom he was married to for 57 years, his brother Joe of Medford, MA, his daughters, Kim Boilard of Hudson, NH, Laurie Beck and her husband Scott of Statesville, NC, his son Robert and his wife Julianne of Round Rock, TX, four grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda Beck, Alex and Rebecca Graves and two great grandchildren, Avery and Lucas Beck. A time of visitation will be held from 10am - 11am with a Prayer Service beginning at 11am on Friday, June 14th in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street, Hudson, NH. Internment will take place at 1:30pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH and all may meet at the cemetery.
