Patricia Vachon

Patricia (Coté) Vachon, 91, of Litchfield, NH passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025. She was born November 4, 1933 in Ste Germaine, PQ, Canada, daughter of the late Joseph and Armoza (Bellavance) Coté. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Pierre Vachon and is survived by her children: Jacinthe Statz and her husband Joseph, Marc Vachon and his wife Nancy, Denis Vachon and his partner Jenifer, Rémi Vachon and his wife Joan, Bernard Vachon and his partner Becky, Martial Vachon, and David Vachon and his wife Ceci; her grandchildren: Joel Statz (Meg Langford), Michael Vachon, Nicole Hatch (Timothy), Alison Fitz (Gregory), Luc Vachon, Kurt Vachon (Ali Reily), Jordan Vachon (Ted MacLeod), Jack Vachon; her great-grandchildren: Haleigh, Lilian and Katelyn Hatch, Mason and Logan Fitz; and her beloved sister-in-law and best friend Rachel (Vachon) Bisson. Patricia was also a nanny for close to 20 years to Adam, Amy and Kari Wagenberg who were considered her second family. She is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews. Patricia was pre-deceased by her siblings: The Gagnons; Juliette, Antoinette, Antoine, and Roland; The Cotés; Jean-Paul, Marc, Clement, Gilles, Napoleon, Eméla, Julienne and Julien. Also pre-deceased by her Vachon in-laws; Gaston, Jeannette, Jacqueline, Simone, Gertrude, Martha, Lorette, Nicolas, Jean-Claude, Dominique, Guy, and Lisette. Patricia belonged to the Daughters of Isabella and volunteered her help for many of their yearly bazaars. She was a parishioner at St. John’s the Evangelist church in Hudson, and volunteered for many years on the Bereavement Lunch Committee. She also attended weekly exercise classes where she made many friends. She loved music, loved to sing. She was a great cook and an even better baker. Her specialties were pies, especially tourtière and maple sugar pie. She also made the best crêpes, which were everyone’s favorite. She loved flowers. She was also a great seamstress. She could make clothes without a pattern. She could darn, hem, make alterations and figure out how to make look perfect any piece of clothing that had been damaged. She reupholstered many couches and chairs. One of the family’s longest and best tradition, which was loved by Patricia, was getting together on Friday nights as a family, where a lot of us got together to catch up on family news/events and celebrated birthdays. Grandchildren were her greatest joy. She spoiled them by spending time with them. She never missed a chance to babysit or just have them over to spend the night, and always serving crêpes for breakfast. Patricia was always welcoming, always smiling. She was very nurturing and taught her children by example. She was a true friend and confidante to many and an absolutely wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Fairview Senior Living for their compassion while caring for our mom during these last few months. A special thank you to Sylvie Cotnoir at Laurel Place who came into our lives at a crucial time. Who, through her compassion, support and grace, became a beloved and respected family friend. Following cremation, a time of visitation will be held on Thursday May 8th from 10:00am -11:30am followed by a Prayer Service at 11:30am in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street in Hudson. Burial will be private.
