Mary Dunn

Mary V. (Murphy) Dunn, 80, of Nashua passed away peacefully on Friday March 4, 2022 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Born on March 30, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Stone) Murphy. Mary was raised in Wakefield, MA; graduating from Our Lady of Nazareth Academy class of 1958 as Salutatorian of her class. On June 6, 1964 she married her high school sweetheart Jack (who predeceased her in 2008). They built their life and home in Nashua for 45 years. A communicant of Saint Patrick's parish, Mary was active in the church, very much enjoying the volunteering she did in the rectory and as a Lector. Mary was employed with Balas, Alphen & Santos for over forty years as a legal secretary before her retirement in 2008. Some of her favorite things were going to the theater with friends, traveling, reading a good book, and Friday night dinners with her siblings. She was a devoted Boston sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox. Mary never turned down a lobster or anything chocolate. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and going to their school events. All who were blessed to know her experienced her generosity, spirited loyalty, and smile. Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Artie Lennerton of Norwell, MA; her son and daughter-in-law John and Lynn Dunn of Merrimack, NH; four grandchildren Allyson and Samantha Lennerton and Kyle and Conor Dunn, a great grandchild Bentley Lennerton. A brother and sister-in-law Robert and Diane Murphy of Nashua, a sister-in-law Jacqueline Dunn of Somerset, MA. Along with nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many dear friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her sister Eileen Hayes in 2010 and her sister Ruth in 2012. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 8th from 5pm-7pm in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry St., in Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 9th at 9:30am in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring St., in Nashua. All may meet at church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Hudson.
