Mark Ferguson

Mark Ferguson, 67, of Litchfield, NH, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 11th. Born on June 27, 1958, in Elizabeth, NJ, Mark was the son of the late Edward and Victoria (Willis) Ferguson. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was defined by kindness, quiet strength, and love for his family and community. Mark was the beloved husband of Donna (Mendes) Ferguson, with whom he shared a life filled with laughter, partnership, and deep affection. Together, they built a home and a backyard oasis in Litchfield—filled with blooming flowers, thriving vegetables, and bird feeders—that became a beloved gathering place for family and friends. A proud and loving father, Mark is survived by his three children: Eric Ferguson and his wife Elizabeth, along with their daughter Rye; Nicole Jalbert and her husband Andrew, along with their son Peter; and Daniel Ferguson and his wife Emily, along with their daughter Adaline. Being a grandfather brought Mark immeasurable joy, and he cherished every moment spent cheering on his grandkids, attending dance recitals, and simply enjoying their company. He is also survived by his brothers, Jeff Ferguson and his wife Cindy, Kevin Ferguson and his wife Leanne, and his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Shelly Mendes, along with several nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Professionally, Mark spent much of his career as an engineer, dedicating 25 years to AGFA, followed by roles at BAE and McClellan. In retirement, he enjoyed a change of pace working in the plumbing department at Home Depot, where his helpful nature and vast knowledge of all things left a lasting impression. Mark was passionate about soccer, particularly the Premier League teams Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur. When his children were young, he was often found coaching from the sidelines or cheering proudly from the stands. He loved nothing more than sitting on the deck with Donna, watching birds, listening to jazz, and soaking in the simple pleasures of life. Deeply involved in his community, Mark served on several town committees in Litchfield, always striving to contribute to a better future for the town he loved. Mark will be remembered for his unwavering support, quiet humor, and love for a good debate. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the lives he touched. Following cremation, a time of visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street in Hudson, NH, with Words of Remembrance being shared at 5:45pm. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to spend a quiet moment with a loved one, plant something in your garden, or simply sit outside and listen to the birds—just as Mark would have loved.
