Johnathon L. Alger

Johnathon L. Alger, 48, of Sanford, Maine, passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2026, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident. Born on January 13, 1978, in Claremont, New Hampshire, Johnathon was the beloved son of Barbara Pukt (Derby) and the late Wayne Alger. He was raised in New Hampshire and, following high school, proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. His military service reflected the dedication, strength, and loyalty that would remain defining qualities throughout his life. He was honorably discharged in 2000. For 20 years, Johnathon was a valued employee of Autofair, where he earned the respect of coworkers and customers alike through his strong work ethic and dependable nature. He took pride in his work and approached life with determination and a willingness to help others whenever he could. Beyond his career, Johnathon's greatest joy was the time he spent with those he loved. He treasured family gatherings, evenings around a campfire with friends, camping trips, fishing adventures, and friendly games of cribbage. Whether cheering on his favorite sports teams or sharing stories and laughter with those around him, he had a way of making people feel welcome and valued. His sense of humor, loyalty, and caring heart will be remembered by all who knew him. Above all, Johnathon loved his family. He was a devoted father, fiancé, son, brother, and friend. The memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Johnathon is survived by his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Joseph Pukt of Nashua, New Hampshire; his fiancée, Jennifer Harding of Sanford, Maine; his daughter, Mackenzie Alger of Hudson, New Hampshire; his stepsons, Connor Harding, Owen Harding and Alyssa Michaud; his brothers, Jeffrey and his wife, Stacie Pukt, Jeremia and his wife, Lea Pukt, Michael Alger, and Douglas and his wife, Carolyn Alger, Mackenzie's mother, Melissa Fowler, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Wayne Alger. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street, Hudson, New Hampshire.
