Joanne Chin Blake

Joanne Chin Blake, 64, of Merrimack, NH passed away peacefully on Friday November 11, 2022, at the Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy illness. Joanne was born in Providence, RI on December 06, 1957, beloved daughter of Thung Y. Chin and the late May Y. Chin. Beloved sister of Thomas and David Chin; daughter-in-law of the late Robert W. and Isabelle C. (O’Brien) Blake. Joanne was predeceased by her husband: the late Timothy R Blake of Merrimack, NH with whom she shared 15 wonderful years of marriage. Joanne spent her childhood in Saugus, MA and graduated in 1976. She attended and graduated from the University of Lowell in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Her 1st professional career started while still attending Saugus High School at the former Touraine clothing store in Saugus. Her next professional journey was at General Electric in Lynn, where she was so enthusiastic with her 1st paycheck, she purchased a whole bag of steamed lobsters and at the time the best Sony cassette boombox. Her professional career continued to flourish with stints in National Gypsum, Dynamics Research, Analog Devices, BAE Systems, and Raytheon Technologies. Her final professional career at Raytheon Technologies was filled with wonderful professional moments, including her enjoyment and cheerfulness in participating in Toastmasters, formally Raytheon Asian Professional Association (RAPAtm) and many 6 Sigma projects. She loved visiting Disney World and Epcot with her late husband Tim. Watching the Food Channel, Dr Who, and many Disney movies. She was always looking forward to eating: Egg Foo Yung, Bacon Lettuce Tomato subs, Lo Mein, Chinese Dim Sum, and Corn Beef Hash for breakfast. She enjoyed listening to the Beatles, Aerosmith and The Eagles among others. Her love for stuffed animals especially for Mickey Mouse is amazing from her collection over the years. Joanne is survived by her loving father: Thung Y. Chin of Hudson, NH; loving brothers: Thomas and David Chin of Hudson, NH and many cousins and dear friends. A special acknowledgement to the teams at: Mass General LVAD Cardiac Care in Boston, Spaulding Rehab Center in Cambridge, MA, Home Health VNA in Lawrence, MA, and Solution Health Southern NH Cardiac Rehab in Nashua, NH. Your unyielding care and support have been tremendous to Joanne and her family the past 2 years. Visiting Hours will be Held on Thursday November 17th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry St., Hudson, NH. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Friday November 18 beginning at 9:30 AM with burial taking place immediately following in Hills Farm Cemetery on 160 Derry Road behind Alvirne Chapel (Route 102). Per family request, all guests are asked to please wear a face mask or a facial covering for all services taking place in the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated.
