Jerry R. Chaisson

Jerry R. Chaisson, 84, of Hudson, NH passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025 following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Jerry was born in Lowell, MA to John and Diana (Bernier) Chaisson. He attended Lowell schools including Lowell Trade School, where he studied carpentry. After living for several years in New Hampshire, he later settled in Framingham, MA, where he met and married his beloved wife Mary (Grace), with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Over the years, Jerry became an exceptionally skilled master carpenter and builder and excelled in finish carpentry. He enjoyed creating pieces of fine furniture for his own home, as well as for friends and family. After retiring, he and Mary relocated to East Wakefield, NH, where he built their stunning lakeside home with the help of his son David. They enjoyed many years of living on the lake, welcoming family and friends to their home. Jerry radiated a love for life, and his characteristic kindness and generosity made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Jerry also became an avid golfer in his retirement and was a member of Indian Mound Golf Club in Ossipee, NH where he made many lifelong friendships. He would proudly take his favorite golf partner, his grandson Daniel, to many tournaments. Jerry was also a member of the White Mountain Seniors, with whom he played regularly at many golf and country clubs in northern New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. Jerry and Mary eventually relocated to Hudson, NH to be closer to their families. Once again Jerry called upon his design and building talents to renovate their new home. Besides golf and woodworking, he loved his garden. He always produced a bumper crop of cucumbers and the very best tomatoes and enjoyed sharing them with family and friends. Jerry was a sports fan and enjoyed watching football, especially the Patriots. He looked forward to watching the Super Bowl every year with his family. He also loved spending time with the family during the holidays and seized any excuse to get the family together. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and always enjoyed light-hearted bantering with granddaughter Lara. Jerry is survived by his wife Mary, his son David Chaisson and life partner Christine Duquette of Bedford, NH; his daughter Deanne (Chaisson) Malizia and her husband Steve of Hudson, NH; his grandchildren Daniel and Lara Malizia of Hudson NH; his brother Roger Chaisson (Sue) of Lowell, MA; his brothers-in-law John Grace (Mari) of Marlborough, MA and Bob Grace (Caroline) of Webster, MA, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Roy Chaisson.
