Jean Louise Enxing

Jean Louise Enxing, 90, passed away on December 29, surrounded by family. Born in Xenia, Ohio, Jean lived a long, full life marked by assertiveness, close relationships, and a personality that left an impression wherever she went. Family was at the center of Jean’s world. She raised her children with a mix of love and discipline, famous for her "Because I said so” approach which proved effective in raising five children. Over the years, she embraced her roles as grandmother and great-grandmother with pride and enthusiasm, never shy about offering advice and support. Jean was known for her wit, charm, and determination. Crowned Homecoming Queen in her younger years, she carried that confidence throughout her life. You could often find her reading a romance novel or watching NotreDame football or Celtics basketball. In later years, she perfected what the family fondly referred to as “command center living,” running daily operations from her favorite chair, remote and call button close at hand. If something needed doing, Jean made sure the right person knew. Faith played an important role in Jean’s life and shaped how she viewed family, responsibility, and care for others. She valued kindness and believed in showing up for the people around her, making her an important member of any community she lived in. Jean was witty, opinionated, occasionally bossy, and always herself. If she loved you, you knew it. If she disagreed with you, you knew that too. She is survived by her brother, Jerry McNamee, her five children and their spouses: Martha Carroll, Hugh Enxing and spouse, Sandra, Marie Murphy, Monica Leon and Daniel Enxing and spouse, Denise; her eleven beloved grandchildren; eight cherished great-grandchildren; Michele Charland, her longtime caregiver and friend, and the many members of her extended McNamee family. Jean joined her mother and father; Edna and John McNamee as well as three brothers; Charlie, Bill and Hugh McNamee. May they all rest in peace. Jean will be remembered for her devotion to family, her stories, and her kind, caring ways. She will be greatly missed for generations. A private service for the family will be held to commemorate her beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in Jean's loving memory to the Nashua Soup Kitchen.
