Jane Stancombe

Jane Marcelina (Grandmaison) Stancombe, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Jane was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, on March 29, 1935, to Emile and Mary (Hennessey) Grandmaison. She grew up in Nashua and attended Nashua schools. For the past 30 years, she resided in Hudson, New Hampshire, most recently making her home at Fairview Senior Living, which she lovingly referred to as “home.” Jane was predeceased by her parents; her five sisters, Camille Leaver (Paul), Gloria Grandmaison, Louise Bowen (Frederick), Claire Lambert (Ernest), and Alma Connor (Clarence); her three brothers, Emile Grandmaison, Jr., H. Paul Grandmaison, and her twin brother, Joseph Grandmaison, who passed shortly after birth; and her four brothers-in-law. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A devoted homemaker for much of her life, Jane raised three children and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. For many years, she lovingly cared for her niece’s children, who affectionately called her “Nanny.” Later, once they were grown, she worked for several years at a manufacturing company in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. Jane greatly enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She was an avid bingo player, loved playing cards with her sisters, and enjoyed taking rides to the beach. She faithfully attended her nephew’s baseball games and was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox. During her early years at Fairview Senior Living, she delighted in coloring with pencils, playing bingo, bowling, and participating in the many activities offered. Jane was a kind, generous, and loving soul who always helped others whenever she could, offering comfort and compassion in times of need. Her strength was rooted deeply in her faith. She was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Nashua, New Hampshire. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Michael Tucker of Hudson, New Hampshire; her sons, Alan W. Stancombe of Henderson, Nevada, and Kevin G. Stancombe of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren, Heather Brown and Christopher Mainguy of New Hampshire, and Brittney Stancombe of Florida; along with several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Fairview Senior Living, including Terry Berry in the business office, as well as the nurses, case manager, social worker, therapists, and director, for the exemplary care and compassion shown to Jane over the years. They truly became family. A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
