Germaine Michaud

Germaine Liliane (Roussel) Michaud 9/21/1931- 8/29/2026 Our loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and friend has been called by her Heavenly Father into the kingdom of God. Germaine was guided throughout her life by her strong faith in God. It was this strong faith which formed her morals and informed every decision. Germaine was a lifelong resident of Nashua, NH where she attended Catholic schools and graduated from Saint Louis de Gonzague in 1949. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Parish. Germaine worked for a short time as a secretary at the former Phaneuf Press before transitioning to a more demanding full-time job as a stay-at-home mom to raise her family. Germaine loved and cherished her family more than anything and often spoke of how proud and fortunate she was to be surrounded by them. Never one to boast, it was mostly her children to whom she said this. She also deeply loved her siblings and their spouses whom she probably walked thousands of miles with and shared many happy times. She was humble and kind and a true friend to those who were close to her. She raised her family in the same way she was raised, with love, understanding, patience, caring, and tolerance. Where material things may have been lacking, love was always in abundance. Germaine was selfless and always cared for those around her before thinking of herself. She was very creative and enjoyed several hobbies throughout her years including ceramics, tole painting and especially knitting, making countless afghans to keep her family warm. Her family was there for her until the end and cared for her in the same way that she always cared for them, with unwavering love, compassion, and patience. Germaine is predeceased by her husband and father to their 5 children, Raymond H. Michaud, who passed away much too young at the age of 59. After Ray’s passing, Germaine joined a support group for the widowed where she made lifelong friends, and it was through one of those friends that she met her second love and husband Armand, who ironically was also a Michaud. She spent 20 happy years with Armand, whom she shared love and companionship with, traveling and enjoying life until his passing in 2013. Germaine is also predeceased by her parents Simon and Yvonne (Michaud) Roussel, her brother Normand Roussel, and her sister Lucille Prince. She is survived by her sisters Bibiane Gagne and Constance Michaud. She is also survived by her five children, Marc (Nashua), Peter and his wife Cynthia (Merrimack), Anne Levesque and her husband Roland “Jay” (Nashua), Anthony and his wife Leah (Hudson), and Steven (Dover). She is also survived by her grandchildren Christopher, Hannah, Saul, Phillip, Nicholas and his wife Adriana, Nathan and his wife Meredith, Ethan, Elise, Davis and Wade, and her great grandchildren Kamila, Sofia, Rylee, and Raegan as well as many nieces, nephews and several close friends. Germaine is now with those that passed before her and welcomed tightly into their arms. While we can no longer hold her in our arms, we hold her dearly in our hearts until we are with her again. Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, September 21st at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Road in Nashua. Burial will take place in St. Francis Cemetery in Nashua. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Corpus Christi Food Pantry, 3 Crown St., Nashua, NH 03060, where she previously volunteered to help support underprivileged families in the community.
