Claire Gauthier

Claire A Gauthier went home to the Lord Jesus on September 8, 2023. She was born September 28, 1937 in Lowell, MA to Valmore and Beatrice (Brodeur) Tessier. Claire graduated Valedictorian from the Lowell Girls Trade School and then married the love of her life Richard Gauthier. Claire gave birth to 5 children and was mainly a stay home mom. At times she returned to work to help out with finances as a receptionist, sales clerk and sold Stanley Home products. Once the children were on their own she worked various positions such as bank teller, jewelry sales, cosmetic sales, and circuit board assembly. Claire also opened her own gift shop out of her home and had a small jewelry business. She had a natural sales skillset and was blessed with an enticing smile and likability. During the span of her life she had many hobbies such as knitting, making beautiful custom cakes, porcelain dolls, blankets, real estate and home construction. Her favorite pastimes were finding a good deal at consignment stores and flea markets, playing slot machines and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She also entered a Mrs. NH America Pageant and placed 4th in 1992. Claire was predeceased in 2022 by her husband of 68 years the love of her life Richard J. R. Gauthier and her first-born Gloria Gauthier, grandsons Ryan Lee, Scott Lee and Kirk Lee, her sister Priscilla Szelog, Her brother Valmore R Tessier. She leaves behind daughters Ellen Gauthier Lee and Charlene Gauthier and sons Richard Gauthier JR and Michael Gauthier, son in-law Michael Lee and daughter in-law Kristine Gauthier, grandchildren Derek Lee, Lyndsay Winarta, Joshua Senechal, Brooke Senechal, Justin Gauthier, Kacie Gauthier and 8 great grandchildren. She also Leaves behind 5 sisters; Lorraine Anderson, Pauline Petropoulos, Donna Gomez and her husband Frank Gomez, Gloria Rudy and her Husband Dennis Rudy and Ruth Gordon and her husband Eric Gordon. Two Sister-in-laws; Ruth George and Jaqueline Gauthier. Several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Special Thanks to her sister our Guardian Angel; Pauline Petropoulos who was by her side daily until God took her home. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Claire’s loving memory are asked to consider either the Dana Farber Cancer Institute at www.dana-farber.org or St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org which are charities that were dear to her heart. Following cremation, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 27th at 10:30am in Kathryn Church, 4 Dracut Road in Hudson. All may please meet at church.
