Charles T. Carey

Charles T. Carey, 83, of Hudson NH, passed away on 18 June 2025 at home, surrounded by family, following a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was born in Springfield, VT to Floyd and Regina (Lafko) Carey. His childhood years were spent in Vermont, moving to Nashua NH in 1959. Charlie was the loving and proud father of four daughters; they were his greatest joy. He never lost an opportunity to brag about them to anyone. From their childhood sports activities to academic achievements to life tribulations or successes, he was always there to support and love them, unconditionally. Charlie earned his associate’s degree from Hesser College and spent over 30 years working in Subcontracts Administration at Kollsman and BAE Systems. Upon retirement, he spent time enjoying his family, hunting whitetail deer and relishing the great outdoors which he so loved. He was an ardent fan of anything associated with hunting, fishing, birdwatching, gardening, berry picking, woodland and flower photography, any activity that would keep him outside. Charlie was most famous for his homemade donuts, strawberry jam and pancakes, which he lovingly would make for his family and close friends. If you were lucky enough to get any you would agree they were awesome! Charlie was preceded in death by his daughter Katie J. Dionne. He leaves behind his loving wife, Maureen (O’Leary) Carey, daughters Kimberley Leets, Karen and husband Richard Beaulieu, and Kelly Carey; son-in-law Shawn L. Dionne; grandchildren Matt, Ashley, Kaylee, Zachary, Tyler and Amber; three great-granddaughters Kyra, Karina and Iliana; brothers Ronald (Arlene) Carey, William Carey, sisters Patricia Penny and Barbara (David) Martel; sister-in-law Eileen (Bruce) O’Leary, brothers-in-law Kevin (Mary) O’Leary and Sean (Lori) O’Leary and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends, all of whom will miss him immensely. He will especially be missed by his Siamese cat “Sammy”. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark’s the Evangelist Church, 1 South Road Londonderry NH on Monday June 23, 2025, at 12:30 PM, followed by a gathering of friends and family immediately after in the church hall. Burial will be held at 3:30 PM in the Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack NH. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Joseph Oncology/ Cancer Center. The smiles, reassurance and endless support made the journey through treatment possible. The family would also like to thank the incredible Home, Health, and Hospice team that supported Charlie and the entire family throughout the most difficult of times.
