Amy L. Laffin

Amy Louise Laffin, 50, passed away on July 24, 2018 after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. Amy knew the meaning of true beauty more than most and saw it in every living thing. She was a woman of grace whose heart was filled with gratitude and her face filled with a smile, always thankful for another day. She found deep spirituality in the celebration of Mother Earth and real satisfaction in bringing joy to all who had the good fortune of being around her. Amy lived in Milford, NH for the past 17 years where she made many dear friends in the community. She cared for them and they cared for her. She loved the water: watching it move swiftly down the Souhegan River behind her home, swimming in the lake at Tony’s camp, playing in the waves on any beach and canoeing anywhere with her dad. She treasured everything about the State of Maine, where she was born. Amy also cherished digging in the dirt and feeling the sun on her face. Amy will be so deeply missed by her father, Curt Laffin, and his wife, Carol Wallace, of Hudson, NH, her sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Gary Provencher, of Merrimack, NH, her niece and nephew, Emily and Curtis Provencher, her sister, Jill Laffin, of North Woodstock, NH, her aunt, Carol Quinn, of Pepperell, MA and very dear friend, Tony Piacenzia, of Hudson, NH. Amy was predeceased by her mother, Ellen Staples Laffin, of Hudson, NH. There are innumerable friends and relatives that are profoundly saddened by her loss. Amy graduated from Alvirne High School in Hudson, NH in 1986. “Miss Amy” worked as a preschool teacher caring for and teaching many small people who adored her. She also spent many years doing various work at Lull Farm in Hollis, NH, most recently as its florist. Flowers and children brightened Amy’s world so she, in turn, could brighten the world of countless others. She was well known for leaving flowers behind wherever she went. Amy found great joy in volunteering for many years at the Mariposa Museum in Peterborough, NH, celebrating cultures around the world and embracing the differences that connect us all to one another. There will be a memorial service at the United Methodist Church in Milford, NH at 11:00 am on August 4, 2018 followed by fellowship and a celebration of Amy’s life. Donations in Amy’s memory can be made to the Mariposa Museum, 26 Main Street, Peterborough, NH 03458 and the Stephens Ministry payable to the United Methodist Church, 327 North River Road, Milford, NH 03055. ALL SERVICES WILL BE TAKING PLACE AT THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. THERE ARE NO SERVICES IN THE FUNERAL HOME. ALL MAY PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH.
