March 17, 2009 at the Greenbrair Terrace Nursing Home in Nashua. Gertrude was born on April 30, 1929 in Lawrence, MA daughter of the late James and Josephine (Barrett) Blackwell and was married to the late James F. Cody for more than 30 years. Gertrude was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Nashua. A homemaker for most of her life, Gertrude also worked for St. Patrick’s Church in the cemetery department for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great cook. She loved going on rides to Hampton and Salisbury Beach. Gertrude is survived by a son; John M. Cody of Nashua. A daughter; Mary-Jo Howe and her husband Ron of Dracut, MA. A brother; John Blackwell and his wife Claire of Seabrook, NH. A sister; Shirley Keegan of North Andover, MA. Three grandchildren; Sarah Howe, Ashley Cody and Delaney Cody and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be held on Fri. March 20th from 4-7pm in the DUMONT-SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME, 370 MAIN ST., NASHUA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Sat. March 21st at 11am at St. Patrick’s Church, 29 Spring St., Nashua. All To Meet At Church. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Hudson.
