Obituary:

Rita M. (Ouellette) Gove, 81 of Ashland, NH and formerly of Hudson, NH died May 30, 2010 at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH following a brief illness.

She was born August 2, 1928 in Nashua, daughter of the late Joseph and Bernadette (Duhamel) Ouellette. In 1986, she was predeceased by her husband Lester Forbes Gove, who served in WWII and Korea. Rita was also predeceased by a brother Paul Ouellette and a grandson Jonathan Gove who died in June of 2004.

Rita grew up in Nashua, graduated from St. Aloysius High school in 1946, and at one time was employed with J.F. McElwain as an office clerk. She enjoyed reading, making puzzles, playing cards, cooking, knitting, and spending time with her family. Her family and friends would never call during a Red Sox game because of her passion to watch every game from beginning to end. Summers were spent with her family at Stinson Lake at the family cottage which held so many precious memories.

Family members include two sons, Lester Gove and his wife June of Hudson, Kenneth Gove and his wife Kathy of Freedom, NH. A sister Pauline Ouellette of Nashua, A brother in law Charles “Butch” Gove and his wife Jane of Gilmanton, NH. Three grandchildren, Shawn Gove of Manchester, Courtney Gardener of Holden, MA and Megan Gove of Hudson. As well as several nieces and nephews, Several grandnieces and grandnephews, and several great grandnieces and great grandnephews.

A Private Graveside Service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Rita’s loving memory to the Jonathan Gove Memorial Scholarship Fund, 18 Sand Hill Rd., Hudson, NH 03051.
